Vélez has reached an agreement with Fortaleza for the loan of Imanol Machuca. The transfer will be on loan for a year with a fee of 250,000 USD and an option to purchase half of his rights for 2.5 million USD. Vélez managed to outbid Independiente and Estudiantes, who were also interested in the player. The transfer comes after Machuca had limited playing time last season in Fortaleza.

This proposal exceeds the bid from Independiente, which suggested just under two million dollars for a similar share after a loan period.
