Igor Jesus leaving Botafogo?
Potential sale of Igor Jesus from Botafogo to benefit Olympique Lyonnais as part of their financial strategy.
Arsenal have reportedly had an opening bid rejected for Botafogo star Igor Jesus. Mikel Arteta is looking to bring in a new striker this month. Botafogo have ‘rejected’ an offer from Arsenal for Jesus. The amount put forward by Arsenal is not revealed. Botafogo aren’t willing to loan Jesus, but would consider a permanent sale for the right price. He has a €100million release clause in his contract, but €20million would reportedly be enough to sign him this month.
The club of Rio has received an offer of 30 million pounds (approximately 36 million euros) for Igor Jesus. The striker, who has been performing well recently and is currently the number 9 of the national team, has attracted attention from the English market.
Igor Jesus is mentioned as a player whose sale could contribute to the financial requirements of Olympique Lyonnais' holding company. The funds from his transfer are expected to be part of the 75 million EUR needed by the end of the year.
