Ibrahima Konaté leaving Liverpool?

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is drawing interest from PSG. The French club is considering a significant summer transfer for Konate, whose contract with Liverpool expires in 2026 and who has yet to agree on a new deal. PSG views this as a chance to explore a potential acquisition of Konate at the season's conclusion. Being from Paris, Konate has a hometown connection that PSG is prepared to leverage in their efforts to bring him back. The French league champions are willing to wait until the summer, at which point Konate will have just one year remaining on his contract, which could pressure Liverpool into entertaining offers if he declines a new contract.

Ibrahima Konate has confirmed that Liverpool has offered him a new contract. He refrained from confirming if he is close to signing it, stating: "It’s true, I’ve been offered a new contract by Liverpool. Am I close to signing it? That’s another conversation!"

Paris FC's prospective owner, Antoine Arnault, has expressed interest in potentially acquiring Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool. Arnault mentioned the possibility of former academy graduates forming the backbone of the club, although it is not the basic strategy of the group. The interest comes as part of a larger plan involving Agache and Red Bull's investment in Paris FC.

Unlike Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Van Dijk, there has been positive news regarding Ibrahima Konate's contract situation, suggesting progress in negotiations.

Ibrahima Konaté has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Although he has not had any conversations with them or anyone else about the transfer, he has not ruled out a return to France.
