Hayate Matsuda Transfer from Hannover 96 II to Hannover 96

Hayate Matsuda, who played on loan for Hannover 96 II for two seasons, making 34 appearances in the 3. Liga, is moving permanently to Hannover 96 for the upcoming season. The 21-year-old Japanese defender signs a professional contract until 2028. Previously, Matsuda played for Hannover's partner club Mito Hollyhock until 2023.

Hannover 96 has extended the loan of Hayate Matsuda for another year. Matsuda, who has been a part of Hannover 96's academy, has been instrumental in the promotion of the U23 team to the 3. Liga. He has been a consistent performer and the club wants to continue this journey with him. After a strong first season with the U23 team, Matsuda is being considered for the main team by Coach Stefan Leitl. He had a few training sessions with the second division team in the 2023/24 season. After the sale of Derrick Köhn to Galatasaray Istanbul and Brooklyn Ezeh's forced break due to mental health issues, Leitl considered deploying Matsuda in the 2. Liga. However, he didn't completely pass the professional test and had to return to the U23 team. He might get another chance soon.
