Hany Abdallah leaving Eintracht Frankfurt?
Philipp Max leaves Eintracht Frankfurt for Panathinaikos Athen after one and a half years. He signed with the Greek first division club, seeking more playing time.
Philipp Max has signed a contract with the Greek first division club Panathinaikos Athen. He expressed his gratitude and nostalgia for his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, where his contract would have lasted until 2026.
Philipp Max is on the verge of joining Panathinaikos Athen following an 18-month spell at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 30-year-old defender is anticipated to ink a three-year deal with the Greek club. Currently, Max is the third-choice left-back at Eintracht, trailing Niels Nkounkou and newcomer Nathaniel Brown, prompting his departure due to limited playing time. Panathinaikos, who finished fourth last season, aims to bolster their squad with his acquisition. Eintracht Frankfurt, where Max's contract was set to last until summer 2026, will receive just over one million euros for the transfer. This move marks Max's second international experience, having previously played for PSV Eindhoven from July 2020 to January 2023.
Philipp Max is currently third in the hierarchy of left-backs at Eintracht Frankfurt behind Niels Nkounkou and new signing Nathaniel Brown. Greek media reports suggest that the three-time national player is set to move to Panathinaikos Athen and is expected to arrive there this Monday.
