Guilherme Arana leaving Atlético Mineiro?
The Paris Saint-Germain management has recently made contact with Atlético Mineiro about Guilherme Arana, a 27-year-old left back. No official proposal has been made yet. Arana's contract was renewed with the Minas Gerais club at the end of 2023 for a new term running until December 2027. The left back arrived at Atlético in mid-2020 on loan from FC Sevilla. At the time, the Brazilian team had paid 2.5 million euros for the loan and an additional 2.5 million as an option to sign him permanently. With the Galo jersey, Arana has already won four regional Campeonato Mineiro titles, a national Brasileirão trophy, a Brazil Cup and a Brazil Super Cup. In total, the left back has played 196 matches with the club, with 19 goals and 31 assists. No concrete progress has been made by the Capital club, but Arana's name, who also passed through Atalanta, should come back in the next few days.
'Repudiated' by Sevilla after signing him, the Atletico Mineiro full-back is enjoying a sweet moment and will play the Copa America with the canarinha. Arana suffered an ‘Isco syndrome’: repudiated by Sevilla, who bought him in 2017 for 9 million euros, he had an irregular loan at Italian Atalanta and later returned to his country, to Atletico Mineiro, to fly very high. He has been playing there since January 2020, now on a permanent basis, and Sevilla maintains a percentage of a future sale. Nobody rules out, seeing his performance, that another significant transfer could occur that would bring money to the needy Nervionian coffers.
