Gonzalo Luján Transfer from San Lorenzo to Inter Miami
Inter Miami announced the signing of defender Gonzalo Luján for three seasons with an option for a fourth season. This announcement was made alongside the introduction of Rocco Ríos Novo to the team.
Gonzalo Luján Melli, a right-back born in 2001, leaves San Lorenzo to sign a contract with Inter Miami. The transfer was requested by coach Mascherano, who knows Luján well from their time together in the Argentina Under-23 team. Luján also participated in the disappointing Olympic campaign where Argentina was eliminated in the quarter-finals by France.
Inter Miami, which boasts several Argentine players such as Lionel Messi, has expressed interest in acquiring Gonzalo Luján, a promising defender from San Lorenzo. The club is looking to secure him on a loan deal that includes an option to purchase. Javier Mascherano, the team's coach, has reportedly requested Luján's transfer, as he is familiar with the player from their time together with the Argentina U23 national team. Negotiations are currently focused on a loan agreement with a purchase option valued at nearly four million dollars. Meanwhile, San Lorenzo remains uncertain about the loan proposition due to their immediate financial needs, and the deal might transition into a sale if no consensus is reached.
