Givairo Read Transfer from Feyenoord to FC Barcelona
Feyenoord's promising young right-back, Givairo Read, has garnered transfer interest from Barcelona, as reported by the Spanish outlet SPORT. The club is keeping a close watch on him. Barcelona already has Jules Kounde as a well-established right-back and also boasts academy graduate Hector Fort. Additionally, Liverpool, under the management of Read's former coach Arne Slot, is also in the race to secure his signature. Read, who made his debut in the Dutch third tier at the age of 15 and has since become a regular in Feyenoord's first team, is recognized for his creativity, ranking as the second-most creative defender in this year's Eredivisie with six top-flight assists. The interest from both clubs underscores his swift rise, although former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has reportedly not yet considered him for the Dutch national team, citing his youth as a factor.
