Giorgi Mamardashvili leaving Liverpool?

Giorgi Mamardashvili will join Liverpool in the 2025/2026 season. The Georgian goalkeeper has been acquired by the Reds for approximately 35 million euros and aims to be the first-choice goalkeeper at Anfield, competing against Alisson Becker. Mamardashvili expressed his determination to train hard and compete for the starting position, as quoted by Marca.

Mamardashvili joined Liverpool last summer in a £29.1m (€35m) package from Valencia and spent the season on loan with Los Che. There are increasing reports that Liverpool might loan him out again next season, particularly in light of Alisson's impressive performance. Although the decision is yet to be finalized, it is suggested that if Alisson remains at the club, Mamardashvili will be loaned out. Transfer journalist Graeme Bailey indicated that Mamardashvili might not be willing to accept a backup role in a World Cup year and could look for regular first-team football elsewhere.
