Gabriel Veron leaving Porto?
Gabriel Veron is preparing to undergo medical examinations as he returns to FC Porto following a loan period at Cruzeiro. FC Porto plans to sell his economic rights to recover the substantial investment made in 2022. His agent, Fábio Mello, is actively engaged in negotiating his transfer. Veron, whose contract extends until 2027, was acquired from Palmeiras in 2022 for €10.2 million plus an additional €2.2 million in charges. During his recent stint at Cruzeiro, he played 37 games, scoring six goals and providing two assists, which may draw interest from both European and Brazilian teams. The Brazilian transfer window remains open until February 28.
Gabriel Veron has been instructed to report to FC Porto in early January, although the club plans to sell his economic rights for the best possible value. FC Porto is aiming to recover the substantial investment they made in 2022, when they acquired Veron for €10.2 million, along with an additional €2.2 million in charges. Cruzeiro has decided not to renew Veron's loan, choosing instead to invest in other targets. Despite FC Porto indicating that there is a €10 million buyout clause, Cruzeiro found this to be prohibitive. Veron's agent is currently looking for other options for the player, but no specific clubs have been mentioned yet.
Gabriel Veron, loaned by Porto to Cruzeiro this year, will not stay at Cruzeiro for 2025. Although Cruzeiro had the option to purchase, the player's performance was not sufficient to retain him, as he scored six goals in 37 matches with two assists.
Gabriel Veron's agent, Fábio Mello, is actively seeking other club options for Veron as there is no agreement with Cruzeiro and FC Porto prefers a definitive sale.
