Gabriel Pires, a Brazilian midfielder currently linked with Fluminense, is attracting interest from Leganés, a club he knows well from his three seasons there in Spain. Brazilian publication RTI Esporte reported that negotiations between the player and Leganés are advanced, with both salary and contract duration (18 months, until the end of the 2025/26 season) already settled. However, an agreement with Fluminense has yet to be reached. Gabriel is attempting to end his contract with the Rio de Janeiro club to avoid paying transfer fees. He had previously left Benfica in a similar fashion, following several loans, at the end of 2023.
