Franko Kolić has returned to Istra 1961 after a seven-year period during which he played for Osijek, Posušje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mura in Slovenia. Istra 1961's sports director, Saša Bjelanović, stated that they had been in contact with Kolić for a while and had successfully reached an agreement that satisfied both parties. Kolić reportedly expressed a strong desire to return to his home club and is motivated by the chance to work with coaches Bulat and Garcia. He noted that although he received offers from other domestic and foreign clubs, he preferred to return to Istra.
