Barcelona are ready to pounce on Real Madrid's indecision over River Plate sensation Franco Mastantuono with their own move for the teenager.

After Real Madrid withdrew their interest, Barcelona has entered the race to sign Franco Mastantuono, the 17-year-old offensive player from River Plate.

Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono. The club has now shown interest in the teenager and is prepared to compete with Barcelona for his signature. Mastantuono, a central midfielder, has made 27 first-team appearances for River Plate, scoring three goals and providing two assists. His current contract with the Argentine giants runs until the end of December 2026, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €3.5 million. However, it is reported that Mastantuono has a €45m release clause included in his deal with River Plate.

Franco Mastantuono was also linked with Barcelona, who appeared mysteriously in the race for his signature after Real Madrid decided to step back. The player recently signed a new contract with River Plate, increasing his release clause to 45 million euros.
