Fran Navarro leaving Porto?

The forward has joined the Minho club on loan from FC Porto. The deal, which was made official on Monday, includes a purchase option. His debut for the Arsenalistas might occur on Saturday against Benfica in the 17th round of the League.

Fran Navarro expressed satisfaction with his move to SC Braga, highlighting that coach Carlos Carvalhal played a crucial role in his decision. SC Braga will pay an initial fee of €300,000 and have an option to purchase for €2.7 million, plus additional variables. FC Porto retains rights for a future sale of the player.

Fran Navarro is anticipated to be officially announced as a new addition to SC Braga shortly. Due to limited opportunities at FC Porto, where he participated in only 7 games without scoring, he will be loaned to SC Braga until the end of the season as part of a special arrangement. FC Porto is set to receive 300 thousand euros upfront for the loan, and SC Braga holds the option to acquire full rights for 2.7 million euros, with an additional 250 thousand euros per season based on certain objectives. FC Porto also retains the ability to sell at the same value to SC Braga, which allows the transaction to proceed even if the player does not perform well at SC Braga. Additionally, FC Porto has secured a future transfer profit clause, entitling them to 100% of the profit if the transfer is less than 6 million euros and 25% if it exceeds 6 million euros. FC Porto will also handle the solidarity mechanism fees. No intermediaries were involved in the deal.

Fran Navarro is set to be loaned to SC Braga until the end of the season. SC Braga will have an option to purchase, while FC Porto has an option to sell for around 3 million euros. The announcement is expected after the game with Boavista. Negotiations had a breakthrough on Saturday, and SC Braga now needs to finalize contract terms with the player.

SC Braga contacted FC Porto to know the terms of a potential transfer for Fran Navarro, but FC Porto is only willing to sell the player.

SC Braga has begun discussions with FC Porto to negotiate the permanent acquisition of Fran Navarro. Both clubs are focusing on reaching a conclusive transfer agreement rather than a loan deal. Fran Navarro, who has long been on SC Braga's radar, was previously acquired by FC Porto from Gil Vicente for a fee of 7 million euros in June 2023. His current market value is estimated to be around 6 million euros, according to Transfermarkt. Given his limited playing opportunities at FC Porto and the club's willingness to sell him, the expected transfer fee ranges between 5 and 7 million euros. SC Braga will also need to account for his salary obligations.

SC Braga is interested in Spanish forward Fran Navarro who has not been a regular option at FC Porto. Strengthening the attack is a priority for Braga in the January transfer window. Although an appealing target, the transfer might be complicated due to interest from other clubs.

Clubs from the MLS showed interest in Fran Navarro and contacted FC Porto to inquire about the player's situation and potential acquisition terms. FC Porto responded that only a permanent transfer offer would be accepted.
