Filip Marschall: Aston Villa Contract Extension
Filip Marschall has signed a new contract with Aston Villa. The previous contract was set to expire at the end of this season. Marschall expressed his delight on social media, thanking many people and focusing on the rest of the season.
Aston Villa have agreed a deal to extend the contract of goalkeeper Filip Marschall. Marschall is a product of the Aston Villa youth system and has made just one senior appearance for the club. Despite being well stocked at goalkeeper, Aston Villa rates Marschall highly and have agreed to tie him down to a new contract, with terms agreed between the two parties.
Filip Marschall, a highly-rated young goalkeeper who is currently on loan at Crewe Alexandra, is reportedly set for a new contract with Aston Villa, as reported by Football Insider. The outlet indicates that although Marschall's contract does not expire until 2027, his last extension was signed in 2022. It is understood that Emery is keen to protect Villa's investment since the keeper has been with the club since 2018 (according to transfermarkt), and believes that offering a new deal could persuade the player to remain registered at Villa Park, even if it will be some time before he can fully establish himself there.
