Erik Jirka has joined Piast Gliwice on a free transfer after ending his contract with Viktoria Plzeň. He has signed a contract that runs until May 31, 2026, with an option for an additional 12-month extension. The player expressed his happiness about joining Piast Gliwice, noting that he considers it a great team and hopes to acclimatize quickly. Jirka has previous experience in the Polish league from his loan spell at Górnik Zabrze, where he scored four goals in 17 league appearances during the latter half of the 2019/2020 season. The 27-year-old winger also conveyed his eagerness to contribute to the team by scoring goals and helping to improve their league position. Piast Gliwice, under the management of Aleksandar Vuković, currently occupies the 11th spot in the Ekstraklasa table with 22 points.
