Duván Zapata Transfer from Atalanta to Cruz Azul
In recent weeks, Cruz Azul, one of the main Mexican clubs, has made some inquiries for Duvan Zapata and seemed ready to make a significant offer to Torino (around 14 million euros) to acquire the Colombian forward. However, the offer never arrived on Urbano Cairo's desk and the negotiation seems destined never to take off. This is because Torino has no intention of letting Zapata go and the forward himself would be quite happy to continue wearing the granata jersey. Regardless of who will be Torino's coach next season (the only certainty at the moment is that Ivan Juric will leave), the Colombian will therefore remain one of the fixed points of the granata team. After all, it couldn't be otherwise after the excellent season enriched by twelve goals (thirteen total in the championship also considering the one scored with the Atalanta shirt on the first day), a booty that could grow further considering that there is still a match to play. Ironically, right at Atalanta's home.
Zapata is expected to move to Cruz Azul in Mexico, but the club seems to have backed off.
Cruz Azul has set its sights on Duvan Zapata: the news has spread in the last few hours and has scared Torino fans who would not want to lose the striker. The fear is also due to the fact that the Mexicans are ready to put 14 million euros on the table: an attractive figure considering also that the striker has just turned 33 years old. Urbano Cairo's wish would be to keep Zapata, who has a contract with Torino until 2026 (for another two seasons after this one) but is ready to listen to Cruz Azul's proposal. The possible continuation of the negotiation will also depend on the player's own will: Zapata this season has shown that he can still make a difference in Serie A and at Torino he has found that smile he had lost at Atalanta. For the moment, Cruz Azul has not officially presented the proposal, it will be discussed in the coming weeks, as soon as the championship is over.
Duvan Zapata may leave Italy after 11 years as Mexico calls and the temptation is strong. The Colombian striker, who turned 33 last April 1, has relaunched in Torino and has returned to the best levels exhibited at the time of Atalanta. Cruz Azul wants Zapata and has presented to Torino an offer of about 14 million euros. Rich proposal to Toro, but also the engagement put on the plate by Cruz Azul to convince the player is very important and can tempt the Colombian to accept. Cruz Azul has made its move, the ball now passes to Duvan and the Granada company that must decide whether to say goodbye at the end of the season.
Duvan Zapata, the 33-year-old Colombian striker, might be transferring to Mexico in the coming summer. Cruz Azul, one of the country's most important clubs, has confirmed the news launched by journalist Fabrizio Romano about an offer of around 14 million euros for the acquisition of his card. Now, the ball passes to the Granata society, the club that last summer bought Zapata from Atalanta for seven million euros plus bonuses.
