D. Solanke leaving AFC Bournemouth?

AFC Bournemouth made significant earnings from the sale of striker Dominic Solanke over the past weekend.

Dominik Solanke is close to leaving Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have agreed to sell star striker Dominic Solanke to Tottenham for a club-record fee.

Tottenham have reportedly been told they will need to match Dominic Solanke's £65m release clause if they wish to sign the Bournemouth striker this summer.

Dominic Solanke, who scored 19 goals and three assists last season with Bournemouth, might be one of the hot names in the upcoming transfer market. According to The Athletic, during his last contract renewal until 2027, signed a year ago, a termination clause of 65 million pounds, over 76 million euros, was included in the agreement, but only payable by certain clubs. It is not specified what the necessary requirements are for a club to be among those that could pay it, but only a top club could afford such a high figure. Solanke, 26, is followed by several high-level companies, both in England and abroad. For Bournemouth, the English striker - excluded from Southgate's squad for Euro 2024 - is non-transferable, but if a club willing to pay the clause should appear, it could obviously not oppose.

Under the guidance of Andoni Iraola, Dominic Solanke has really come of age. The 26-year-old striker has notched 18 Premier League goals this term, leading to rumours that big clubs are interested in signing the Bournemouth forward this summer. With two of his final three games of the season away at Arsenal and Chelsea, it seems unlikely he will be able to make up the three goals on Haaland at this stage but stranger things have happened.
