Liverpool is considering using Darwin Nunez as a makeweight in a deal to acquire Newcastle United's striker, Alexander Isak. Despite Nunez's underwhelming performance in the 2024/25 season, Liverpool is contemplating a cash plus player deal for Isak. Previously, a deal was almost completed for Nunez to move to the Saudi Pro League.

Liverpool are reportedly keen on offering Darwin Nunez in a player-plus-cash deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak this summer. Nunez is valued at £60 million (€72.4m, $75.7m).

Liverpool could face serious interest in forward Darwin Núñez, with Newcastle United reportedly looking to acquire him for at least €60 million. Núñez was signed by Liverpool from SL Benfica in 2022 for €85 million. Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher speculated on The Overlap show that he would be surprised if Núñez was still at Anfield by the end of 2025, suggesting that he might move on before then.

Newcastle are interested in signing Darwin Nunez, but they would pursue this interest only if Alexander Isak were to be sold. However, as Newcastle intend to keep Isak, a transfer for Nunez to Newcastle does not seem imminent. Liverpool have established a price range of £50m-£60m for Nunez, which they consider fair despite his inconsistent performances. Nevertheless, Newcastle are currently concentrating on retaining Isak, who has been delivering outstanding performances, thus making a transfer for Nunez unlikely at present.
