Dário Essugo Transfer from Sporting CP to FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona is actively monitoring young talents to strengthen both their first team and B team. Among these talents is the Portuguese midfielder Dário Essugo, who is currently playing for Las Palmas on loan from Sporting de Portugal. It was reported that FC Barcelona made an offer to Sporting de Portugal during the summer to sign Essugo, suggesting a loan with an option to purchase at the end of the season. However, Sporting de Portugal was said to have declined the proposal, as they did not accept this mechanism in the operation. Despite this setback, Barcelona reportedly remains interested and plans to make another attempt to acquire Essugo, considering him a promising future addition.

Dario Essugo, who is currently on loan at Las Palmas, was nearly transferred to FC Barcelona. The Catalan club made efforts to secure his loan; however, the deal ultimately collapsed due to Barcelona's desire to include a purchase option in the agreement, which Sporting CP turned down. Sporting CP expressed a preference for a dry loan to guarantee the player obtains playing time, as they consider him a valuable future asset. Dario Essugo has a release clause set at 60 million euros with Sporting CP.

Sporting holds a contract with Essugo until 2027, which includes a release clause of approximately 60 million euros.
