Daniele Ghilardi Transfer from Hellas Verona to Lazio
The possibility of signing Ghilardi from Verona seems to have ended. Initially, Ghilardi was scheduled for a June transfer, but the demands for his transfer fee increased after the club was taken over by an American fund, leading Lazio to abandon the pursuit.
Lazio showed interest in Ghilardi from Hellas Verona last week. Negotiations seemed to be progressing well, but Lazio has now halted the talks due to the significant financial demands of Hellas Verona's president, Setti.
Lazio is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Verona for the transfer of Daniele Ghilardi. Sources from Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that the agreement is practically finalized. Ghilardi, a right-footed central defender born in 2003, has been making a strong impression with Verona this season. He developed his skills in Fiorentina's youth academy and joined Hellas Verona in 2022 following loan spells at Mantova and Sampdoria. This year, he has made 10 appearances in Serie A and recently secured a starting position under coach Zanetti. Lazio considers Ghilardi as an investment for the future, with the transfer expected to occur in June. The club aims to outpace the competition and secure the player while allowing him to remain in Veneto for another six months. Lazio plans to continue rejuvenating its defense, given that several of its players are over 30 years old.
