Dani Ceballos was close to returning to Real Betis in the summer, but negotiations fell through at the last moment due to Carlo Ancelotti's decision to keep him despite offers from Betis and AS Monaco.

Ceballos is reportedly unhappy with his playing time at Real Madrid and wants to leave the club. Monaco is also said to be interested in acquiring Ceballos. Real Madrid is aware of Ceballos' desire to leave and will not close the door on his departure, but they will not let him go for free. Ceballos needs to bring an offer of around 15 million euros for the transfer to happen. As of now, no offers have been received by Real Madrid. Ceballos' contract with Real Madrid runs until 2027, which he renewed last year.

According to Marca, Monaco has contacted Real Madrid to explore a loan with an option to buy Dani Ceballos towards the end of the transfer window.
