Feyenoord are reportedly weighing up a move to take Cyriel Dessers back to Rotterdam and considering trying to hijack AEK Athens’ bid for the Rangers striker. Dessers had a loan spell with Feyenoord in 2021/22 and was Europa Conference League top scorer with 12 goals but they opted not to sign him on a permanent basis.

Cyriel Dessers, currently playing for Rangers, has discussed the potential of returning to Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. Although he noted that Feyenoord possesses three excellent strikers, he indicated that there is a certain price point that only a few clubs are capable of meeting. Dessers expressed his interest in participating in a serious competition where he can vie for trophies. Linked to several clubs, including Ligue 1's Saint-Etienne and LaLiga's Leganes, Dessers conveyed his readiness to engage in transfer discussions with Rangers if he does not receive sufficient playing time. Despite enjoying his tenure at the club, he acknowledged that he has slipped down the pecking order and is evaluating his options, mentioning that Rangers might seek to profit from his transfer. Rangers acquired Dessers for €5 million in 2023, and with his contract extending until 2027, this may impact his transfer value and negotiations.
