Rio Ave will soon activate the purchase option for the forward Clayton from Vasco da Gama, the holder of the player's economic rights. Due to Clayton's successful season, scoring a total of 11 goals and providing one assist, Rio Ave decided to secure him permanently. They will pay around three million euros to Vasco da Gama, as per the loan agreement made during the summer. Clayton will sign a long-term contract with Rio Ave.

Clayton is currently on loan at Rio Ave from Vasco Gama. Rio Ave has an option to purchase the player's sporting rights. The Brazilian club Vasco Gama paid around 3.5 million EUR to Casa Pia for 70 percent of Clayton's pass in March 2024.
