Chuba Akpom, currently aiming for a loan move from Ajax this January, is considering Nice as a potential destination. French outlet Foot Mercato reported that Akpom is amenable to a transfer to Ligue 1, as he seeks a club where he can play as a striker, rather than in the positions of attacking midfielder or left winger, which he currently fills at Ajax. Nice is among the clubs, including RC Lens, Rennes, Nantes, and Saint-Etienne, that have been cited as possible destinations for Akpom. He joined Ajax from Middlesbrough for 12.3 million in the summer of 2023 and has a contract running until 2028.
