Standard Luik hopes to acquire Casper Nielsen on a free transfer. Negotiations with Club Brugge have started.

Casper Nielsen has received an offer from Standard Luik and is open to the idea of joining Sclessin. Discussions are in progress and are at an advanced stage. Nielsen has a contract with Club Brugge until 2026 and a market value of 3 million euros. Last season, Nielsen mostly played as a reserve player, appearing 19 times and contributing one assist, plus played in 6 Champions League matches with one goal. Due to high competition, Club Brugge is willing to let him go.

Casper Nielsen is likely to leave Club Brugge this summer. Club Brugge paid 7.5 million euros to acquire him from Union three years ago, but he has not justified that high transfer fee. After a decent first season, he lost his starting position due to the arrival of Vetlesen and the emergence of Jashari. He has been mostly out of the picture and only started ten times this season. His contract has one year remaining, but Club Brugge is not convinced to extend it. Nielsen wanted to leave in January, and the club aims to secure a transfer fee this summer.

The club is willing to consider selling him for a reasonable price, yet they are equally content for him to remain, given his commendable attitude.
