Carraça is at the end of his contract with Chaves and his future is still uncertain. The club has expressed interest in renewing his contract and has had conversations in that direction, but no decision has been made yet. Despite Chaves' poor season, which resulted in their relegation to Liga 2, Carraça has made his mark on the club, playing 21 games (20 in the Liga and 1 in the Taça de Portugal) and proving extremely useful to Moreno Teixeira due to his versatility. It is highly likely that Carraça, 31, will continue to play in Portugal's top tier next season. He has received approaches from abroad, but the sporting projects are not particularly appealing. Chaves' SAD is currently focusing on the dossier of the new coach, and only after this will firm steps be taken regarding the construction of the squad for the coming season. Some of the players who are at the end of their contract will receive concrete renewal proposals, as should be the case with Carraça.
