Aston Villa are reportedly interested in bringing back 21-year-old English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea during the winter transfer window. Chukwuemeka has only started once in the UEFA Conference League this season and has not yet appeared in a Premier League match under the management of Enzo Maresca. Since his transfer from Villa to Chelsea in August 2022, Chukwuemeka’s progress has reportedly stagnated. It was said that the Chelsea manager had wanted to allow the midfielder to leave the club during the summer transfer window last year, but a transfer did not happen. Chelsea are asking for £40 million for the midfielder, which is more than twice the amount they initially paid Villa for him. Emery’s team is not anticipated to meet the price set by Chelsea, casting doubt on the possibility of Chukwuemeka returning to Villa.
