Carlos Alcaraz Transfer from Flamengo to Everton
Carlos Alcaraz joined Everton on loan from Flamengo during the last transfer window. Everton is obligated to purchase him if certain performance targets are met. Alcaraz made a significant impact in his first start, contributing to a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace with a goal and an assist.
Everton finalized the loan signing of Charly Alcaraz from Flamengo. The deal was completed after the 11pm deadline by submitting a deal sheet. Everton has a conditional obligation to buy Alcaraz for €20m if he makes eight appearances before the end of the season. Negotiations were prolonged due to the obligation to buy clause and input from David Moyes, who agreed on an eight-game timeframe. Everton can terminate the loan if Alcaraz suffers a long-term injury.
Flamengo has officially announced the loan of Carlos Alcaraz to Everton, with an obligation to purchase if certain performance targets are met. The decision was made after the club considered the technical commission's vision and its own interests, as Alcaraz would have limited opportunities to play his best football under the current game model. The move is perceived as a chance for Alcaraz to take on a more prominent role in his career, aligning with both Flamengo's financial and sporting strategy. This transfer comes shortly after Alcaraz scored in Flamengo's 2-0 victory over Sampaio Corrêa, and just two days before the Supercopa do Brasil. Flamengo's director, José Boto, noted that although Alcaraz is a great player, the current game model provides him limited chances to shine. Alcaraz, who joined Flamengo in August 2024 for a club-record fee of US$ 20 million from Southampton, will not travel with the team to Belém as he is set to move to England.
