C. Kelleher Transfer from Liverpool to Celtic
Caoimhin Kelleher plans to quit Liverpool next summer due to lack of guaranteed playing time. Despite his excellent performances, Arne Slot has made it clear Alisson will be reinstated as the first-choice goalkeeper once fit. Kelleher's contract expires in 2026, but Liverpool may have to accept a fee below their £25m valuation. Celtic is among the clubs monitoring his situation.
Celtic is named as an interested club in acquiring Caoimhin Kelleher in 2025. Liverpool will seek between £25m-£30m for him next summer.
Caoimhin Kelleher, who serves as Liverpool's reserve goalkeeper, has conveyed his discontent with his position as a backup and expressed a desire for regular first-team football. Former Celtic forward Chris Sutton proposed that Kelleher consider a move to Celtic, highlighting the goalkeeper's Irish heritage as a factor that could influence such a transfer. Kelleher indicated his firm intention to depart from Liverpool in pursuit of becoming a No.1 goalkeeper, and he recognized that other clubs are interested in him because of his performances.
Kelleher has been linked with a move to Brendan Rodgers' Celtic.
Celtic were reported to have been interested at the end of last season but moved to sign Kasper Schmeichel on a free transfer instead.
Celtic will have to pay in excess of £20m if they want to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
