Bohdan Sliubyk was considered as a replacement for Popov, for whom an offer from a foreign club was expected. The transfer was supposed to happen in the winter transfer window. However, Dynamo Kyiv delayed the proposal, and Rukh tripled the price, leading Dynamo Kyiv to abandon the transfer.
