Berkay Yilmaz joins 1. FC Nürnberg on a one-year loan. Nürnberg has an option for an additional loan year but no purchase clause. Yilmaz had inquiries from Turkish clubs but chose to join Nürnberg to challenge Danilo Soares and develop further under coach Miro Klose.

Berkay Yilmaz (19) is on the list of 1. FC Nürnberg. The Turkish junior national player has so far only played for the second team of SC Freiburg and is now supposed to be loaned to the club as a backup for the left-back position.
