Ben Godfrey leaving Atalanta?

Ben Godfrey, defender of Atalanta, was not called up by coach Gasperini for the Italian Super Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia. According to TMW, the player stayed in Bergamo to train due to market opportunities that might interest him. He has played very little this season, with only 5 appearances totaling 93 minutes in all competitions. His departure in January seems almost certain.

Godfrey might leave Atalanta in January due to a lack of playing time, even amid a defensive crisis. Coach Gasperini has opted to reposition De Roon and Ruggeri instead. If an offer of around 10 million euros comes within the next three months, it is likely that Atalanta will allow him to leave.

Ben Godfrey, an English defender born in 1998, was acquired by Atalanta for 10 million EUR from Everton. He has only played 27 minutes in the Supercoppa and 22 minutes in the league. Despite his limited playtime, Atalanta is unlikely to let him go this session as they have high hopes for him and believe he needs more time to integrate into the team. His contract runs until June 2029.
