Ben Godfrey Transfer from Atalanta to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Ben Godfrey, a central defender who has been largely unused in the first part of the season at Atalanta, is considering a return to the Premier League. The former Everton player, with over 80 appearances for the Toffees, may leave Atalanta prematurely. According to the Daily Mail, he could be an option for Wolverhampton on a loan basis.

Ben Godfrey is open to sacrificing a potential Serie A victory for a return to the Premier League, with Wolves at the forefront of efforts to bring the adaptable defender back to England. Godfrey has participated in only four matches for Atalanta since his transfer to Italy, with just one appearance in Serie A. Reports suggest he is eager to play actively rather than remain on the bench and possibly secure a medal next May. The 26-year-old made the move to Italian league leaders Atalanta from Everton in a £10 million transfer last summer. Nottingham Forest is also vying to acquire Godfrey, who has faced challenges in adapting to Gian Piero Gasperini's system at Atalanta. Godfrey last played in a Champions League victory against Young Boys, and Atalanta currently maintains a two-point advantage at the top of Serie A.
