Ben Godfrey Transfer from Atalanta to Nottingham Forest

Ben Godfrey, a central defender who has been largely unused in the first part of the season at Atalanta, is considering a return to the Premier League. The former Everton player, with over 80 appearances for the Toffees, may leave Atalanta prematurely. According to the Daily Mail, he could be an option for Nottingham Forest on a loan basis.

Ben Godfrey is reportedly willing to forego the chance of winning Serie A in favor of a return to the Premier League. Nottingham Forest are among the clubs competing to bring the versatile defender back to England. Godfrey has made only four appearances for Atalanta since his move to Italy, with just one in Serie A. It is said that he is keen to play rather than remain on the bench and possibly receive a medal next May. The 26-year-old moved to Atalanta from Everton in a £10 million deal last summer, but he has found it difficult to adjust to Gian Piero Gasperini's system, which has been a factor in his limited playing time. Wolves are also reportedly leading the pursuit alongside Nottingham Forest to facilitate Godfrey's return to the Premier League. Godfrey's most recent appearance for Atalanta was in a Champions League match, and the club's strong form in Serie A has further restricted his opportunities.
