Rennes has begun discussions with Trabzonspor in an attempt to sign Batista Mendy. Although no official offer has been submitted, the negotiations are still in progress. Mendy, known for his versatility and ability to play in central defense, remains under contract until June 2027. Trabzonspor is asking for 15 million euros for his release. Rennes had previously expressed interest in Mendy earlier in the summer but encountered the same financial demands from Trabzonspor. Mendy is also being considered by several English clubs. The 25-year-old French midfielder, who joined Trabzonspor in September 2023, has quickly become one of the most notable midfielders in the league. Following the signings of Seko Fofana and Brice Samba, Rennes continues to actively search the winter transfer market, especially after the departures of players Meister, Santamaria, and Gronbaek.
