A. Theate Transfer from Rennes to Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt signed Arthur Theate after missing out on Konstantinos Koulierakis. Theate has impressed since joining and played a key role in securing a victory against Wolfsburg.
Theate was signed as a left center-back for Pacho (who moved to Paris). Theate had previously turned down a lucrative offer from El-Ittihad in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which included a €20 million transfer fee, because he didn't want to be far from his family in Belgium. He considers Frankfurt the perfect step for his career after stints in Italy (Bologna) and France (Rennes).
Arthur Theate has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with an option to buy set at around 15 million euros. Theate expressed his excitement about joining Eintracht, mentioning that he had heard positive things about the club, its stadium, and its fans. He said he was convinced by discussions with Markus Krösche and is eager to achieve results and win titles with the team. Markus Krösche, the sporting director, confirmed that they had worked intensively with Theate for a long time and are pleased to have finally managed the transfer.
Arthur Theate quits Rennes and joins Eintracht Frankfurt. The 24-year-old Belgian defender has signed with the German club on a one-year loan with an option to buy, which could be around 15 million euros. The German club quickly accelerated the deal, while AS Roma and Al-Ittihad were also interested in acquiring the Belgian international (18 caps with Belgium).
According to Ouest-France and Sky Sports DE, Rennais is currently in negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt for the transfer of Arthur Theate to the Bundesliga. The transfer fee could exceed 15 million euros. The German club wants to conclude the deal as soon as possible. The move is likely as Eintracht Frankfurt is keen to secure the player following Pacho's departure to PSG.
