Antonio Candela Transfer from Venezia to Palermo

Palermo has been persistently pursuing Antonio Candela and proposed a swap deal to bring him to Sicily, with Salim Diakité moving to Venezia.

Antonio Candela, a defender born in 2000 from Venezia, is considered a possible reinforcement for Palermo. The clubs, Venezia and Palermo, have been working for days on a possible loan exchange. The deal could close next week.

The Sicilian club is in the race for the right-back born in 2002, another player registered with the Venetian club. The competition is not lacking: Sassuolo has entered the race strongly but must first sell Yeferson Paz, while Sampdoria remains on the lookout. For the Sicilians, the operation could be realized through an exchange with Mamadou Diakité, a formula that could be appreciated by the parties. The alternative remains a paid loan with a buyout option set at 1.5 million euros.

Antonio Candela is currently blocked by Venezia, but Palermo's interest might change Venezia's stance. Palermo and Venezia are working on a swap deal involving Candela and Salim Diakité. Candela would move to Palermo as part of this exchange.

Palermo has started to explore the possibility of acquiring Antonio Candela, aiming to strengthen their flanks with a young and quality profile like Candela. This interest comes amid a slowdown in negotiations between Pisa and Candela, who is currently owned by Venezia. While Pisa's deal seems to be stalling, Palermo, alongside Sampdoria, is actively considering Candela to bolster their squad.
