Anthony Lopes Transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to Liverpool
Anthony Lopes, who is reportedly frustrated about his demotion at Olympique Lyon, disclosed in an interview with L'Équipe that he had turned down significant offers in the last transfer window. He acknowledged having had an opportunity to transfer to a major European team, specifically Liverpool, which had wanted him as a backup to Alisson and a future backup to Mamardashvili. Despite the offer, Lopes decided to stay, but he indicated that his decision might have been different if he had been approached at the end of August. The relationship between Lopes and Olympique Lyon is said to be strained, and a departure is anticipated by the end of the season or possibly in January.
Anthony Lopes, a 34-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper from Lyon, was approached by Liverpool at the start of the transfer window. However, he declined the proposal, expressing that he did not want to be a second-choice goalkeeper at that time. He later conveyed regret over this missed opportunity, noting that his decision might have been different if the offer had come towards the end of the transfer window. Lopes is currently in a challenging situation with one year remaining on his contract and no prospects for playing time.
Anthony Lopes, currently the fourth-choice goalkeeper at Lyon, was informed by the club that he could leave, and Liverpool showed interest in him as a backup goalkeeper. Despite being offered the chance to leave for free with one year left on his contract, Lopes refused the proposal.
