Newcastle United saw a last-gasp bid of £50m rejected for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga on deadline day. A £35m offer was turned down for the former Manchester United youngster earlier in the day.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have renewed their pursuit of Elanga with a substantial offer. However, Forest are reportedly not eager to sell and would seek a higher fee. Any sale could financially benefit Manchester United due to a sell-on clause in Elanga's contract when he departed Old Trafford in 2023.
