Genk is seeking a permanent resolution for Zeqiri as his contract is due to expire in a year. It has been reported that discussions have taken place between Marc Wilmots of Standard and Dimitri de Condé of Genk concerning the transfer. The financial aspects, including whether Genk will recoup their investment of approximately three million, have not yet been revealed.

Standard wants to activate the purchase option for Andi Zeqiri, who is on loan from Genk. The club has until June 15 to decide. However, financial difficulties make it challenging to pay the 2.8 million euro option fee and his annual salary of 1.1 million euro.
