Michael Murillo, who is currently playing as a right-back for Olympique de Marseille, has reportedly fallen out of favor with coach Roberto De Zerbi. The coach is said to be dissatisfied with Murillo's lack of courage in ball recovery and his difficulty in combining with teammate Mason Greenwood. Although Murillo was a regular starter at the beginning of the season, he has since been overtaken by Pol Lirola in the team hierarchy. With his contract running until June 2026, there is speculation that Murillo might be encouraged to leave during the upcoming winter transfer window to free up a non-EU player spot for the club. It is noted that his departure was already considered last summer.
