Amando Lapage Transfer from RSC Anderlecht II to Westerlo
Amando Lapage has decided to leave RSC Anderlecht to pursue a new opportunity at Westerlo. The 19-year-old defender expressed a desire for more playing time, noting that competition at Anderlecht had intensified with the arrivals of Adryelson and Lucas Hey. He has signed a 4.5-year contract with Westerlo. Initially, Anderlecht demanded one million euros for the transfer, but, considering Lapage's contract was nearing its expiration, they agreed to a reduced fee of 500,000 euros. Additionally, Westerlo negotiated a percentage on any future resale of the player. The transfer has left many Anderlecht fans disappointed, as they felt that Lapage should have remained with the club.
Armando Lapage is poised to join Westerlo after making the decision to leave Anderlecht due to limited playtime opportunities. As the grandson of Paul Van Himst, Lapage is a 20-year-old central defender who has participated in both the Jupiler Pro League and the Croky Cup this season. Although he had a contract with Anderlecht running until 2025, his playing opportunities decreased significantly following the arrivals of Adryelson and Hey, which led him to decide to pursue more playing time at Westerlo. Lapage's contract was due to expire at the end of the season, resulting in a permanent transfer. Various media outlets have confirmed this transfer, noting his market value at 600,000 euros. The move is considered a setback for RSCA Futures, where Lapage was a key player, having made 14 appearances and provided two assists, as they fight against relegation in the Challenger Pro League.
