Alexander Büttner is set to become the first summer signing for Vitesse. The 35-year-old left back is transferring from De Graafschap. Büttner did not train with De Graafschap on Wednesday morning as he is set to undergo a medical examination in Arnhem. It is intended that he will make his debut this Friday against Telstar. Vitesse's head scout, Theo Janssen, confirmed that an agreement has been reached with De Graafschap.
Alexander Büttner is anticipated to become Vitesse's first signing of the summer. This move is particularly noteworthy as the 35-year-old left-back will be joining from local rivals De Graafschap. Büttner, who has spent the past two seasons playing in his hometown of Doetinchem, is now poised to make a significant switch to Arnhem to join Vitesse. While Vitesse's head scout Theo Janssen neither confirmed nor denied the transfer, it is understood that negotiations are underway. Vitesse coach John van den Brom has been a strong proponent of Büttner's signing, having previously collaborated with him during the 2011/2012 season, which culminated in Büttner's dream transfer to Manchester United.
