Álex Valle: FC Barcelona Contract Extension
Reports from Spain indicated that Barcelona, the leaders of La Liga, were contemplating the possibility of recalling Alex Valle from his season-long loan at Celtic in January. Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, mentioned that he was not aware of these reports and anticipated that Valle would complete the season in Glasgow as originally planned. Valle has made a notable impact at Celtic, offering competition for Greg Taylor and enjoying his experience both on and off the pitch.
Before finalizing his loan to Celtic, Valle renewed his contract with Barcelona until 2026, with an option for two more seasons, as his previous contract ended in the summer of 2025. This renewal ensures that the player will remain with Barcelona next year, and in the event the club decides to sell him, the player will not leave as a free agent. The Catalan club also secures the ownership of a left-back with great potential and a resource in a position that is always difficult to find in the market. The Scottish club did not sign any clause for a future purchase.
