Albert Sambi Lokonga Transfer from Arsenal to FC Bayern München
Albert Sambi Lokonga, a defensive midfielder, is reportedly a potential transfer target for Bayern. The new Bayern coach, Vincent Kompany, is said to be interested in bringing his former protégé to Munich. Kompany knows Lokonga from their time together at RSC Anderlecht where he was a major promoter of his Belgian compatriot. Lokonga was loaned to Luton Town last season. His career in London has been stagnating, and he hasn't been able to establish himself after a solid first year. He was first loaned to Crystal Palace, then moved on to Luton Town last summer. Persistent injury problems have hampered his performance in Luton. According to reports, Kompany wants to help Lokonga regain his old strength and sees him as a valuable addition to the squad's depth. However, Kompany reportedly wants to first push for a loan of the Belgian national player and has already expressed this wish to the Bayern bosses. Arsenal, on the other hand, would prefer to sell Lokonga, who is under contract with them until 2026.
Bayern Munich is seeking a deal to acquire Albert Sambi Lokonga, who has had few first-team opportunities at Arsenal. The former Burnley boss, Vincent Kompany, wants to sign his former protegee at Anderlecht via a loan deal to resurrect his career. However, there is a stumbling block over the negotiations as Bayern only wants to sign the player on a loan deal, while Arsenal insists on a permanent transfer. Sambi Lokonga has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €5.5m but Arsenal will be hoping to push for a fee closer to the initial outlay they made on a player who has won one international cap for Belgium.
