Before Southampton's interest, the 26-year-old player was linked with Newcastle.

Newcastle had previously been linked with the England international.

Earlier in the transfer window, Ramsdale was reported to have agreed a move to Newcastle United, although the England international publicly rubbished the stories before heading off to Euro 2024.

Newcastle United has been linked with Aaron Ramsdale over the last few months. Ramsdale was relegated to the Gunners' second-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of David Raya.

Newcastle is interested in Aaron Ramsdale. The negotiations with Arsenal are ongoing but proving to be more complicated than expected.

Should Newcastle and Burnley not come to an agreement over Trafford, Newcastle could re-declare their interest in Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Last month, reports claimed Ramsdale's representatives had even confirmed a move to Newcastle was on the cards, but the player himself laughed off the reports, posting "news to me" on social media.

Arsenal will need to find another suitor for Aaron Ramsdale as Newcastle are refusing to meet the Gunners' £30 million asking price.

Aaron Ramsdale, who lost his place at Arsenal, is expected to consider his options this year and has attracted interest from Newcastle United. However, Ramsdale has insisted that reports of an agreement were premature.

Newcastle is making progress to secure a deal for Aaron Ramsdale. Newcastle's coach, Eddie Howe, knows Ramsdale well from his time at Bournemouth and has decided to acquire his former player. Newcastle is prepared to present Arsenal with a proposal exceeding 17 million euros, which translates into an offer of a five-year contract for Ramsdale. Ramsdale was a key figure for Arsenal last season but lost his starting position to David Raya. Despite signing a contract extension with Arsenal until 2028, it is expected that Arsenal will make Raya's loan move permanent this summer. If Ramsdale is signed by Newcastle, he is not expected to be a starter immediately as he will have to compete with Nick Pope.

Aaron Ramsdale responds to reports he has agreed to leave Arsenal for Newcastle. Ramsdale lost his starting spot in the early weeks of the season following the arrival of David Raya, whose loan from Brentford is due to be made permanent this summer. With another season on the Arsenal bench looming, a number of clubs are understood to be keen on landing Ramsdale in the coming months, with Newcastle regularly linked with the 26-year-old's signature. It was even reported on Friday that Ramsdale had reached an agreement to move to St James' Park, but the goalkeeper quickly took to social media to shoot the rumours down.

Newcastle United have made a £15m move for Arsenal understudy goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who worked under Eddie Howe during their time together at Bournemouth.

According to Sky Sports News reporter James Green, Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale is set to join Newcastle this summer. He told the Highbury Squad YouTube channel: “I understand and I found out directly from a player’s agent that one of our players is off to Newcastle and a deal has been agreed. One that has caused debate and divide this season. It is my understanding that Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to join Newcastle in the summer. That has come directly from speaking to somebody who I am very close with who has spoken to his agent and he’s said it’s done, the deal is happening.” However, Ramsdale has seemingly debunked this rumour, posting on X (formerly known as Twitter): “News to me,” accompanied by a laughing face emoji.

Ramsdale has reportedly agreed to join Newcastle United in the summer. The England international has been heavily linked with a summer departure following his lack of game time this season. A move to Newcastle is in an advanced stage. Ramsdale joined Arsenal for €28 million from Sheffield United in 2021. He played a key role as Arsenal challenged Manchester City for the Premier League title last season, but he has been demoted to the role of second-choice in 2023-24. David Raya’s arrival on loan saw Ramsdale lose his place and he has made just 11 appearances in all competitions this campaign. With the Spaniard’s move being made permanent this summer, Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal and he has reportedly now agreed to join Newcastle.

With Raya set to become a permanent Arsenal player this summer, Ramsdale is expected to leave the club in order to become a number one once again. Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the Englishman, although a move to St James’ Park is considered to be a more likely eventuality as things stand.
