Aaron Opoku Transfer from Kaiserslautern to St. Louis City

Aaron Opoku's transfer from 1. FC Kaiserslautern to St. Louis in the MLS was nearing completion but has now been called off. The publication 'Bild' reported that the winter transfer did not go through due to insufficient time to finalize it. The deal was expected to be completed following Kaiserslautern's final match of the year against 1. FC Köln. Opoku was required to be registered with his new club in the USA by Friday, and there were anticipated delays with his work permit. His contract with Kaiserslautern is set to expire in the summer, and he may move to the MLS on a free transfer at that time.

Aaron Opoku is expected to transfer to St. Louis in the MLS during the winter transfer window. This move is being discussed as a potential option for 1. FC Kaiserslautern's squad adjustments, as they seek a suitable replacement.

Aaron Opoku is reportedly not intending to extend his contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern, which is set to expire in the summer. Sources from 'Sky' suggest that Opoku has agreed to terms with MLS club St. Louis. However, negotiations between the clubs remain distant. FCK managing director Thomas Hengen indicated that they are not yet close to an agreement, without disclosing the name of the acquiring club. He explained that the club does not wish to weaken the squad, implying that they are not obligated to release the player.
